Who we are
We are Lubbock High School students—mostly juniors and seniors—passionate about education and service. We believe that every child deserves every opportunity to reach their full potential, and we want to help our local community reach that goal.
What we do
Every Saturday, from 1-5 PM, we offer a free tutoring service at various libraries throughout Lubbock for students K-12. We can tutor math, reading, writing, coding and test preparation all up to an advanced level, and can also offer advice to those unsure about their future path.
Where we are
Currently, we have two locations.
Godeke Library was where we began, and is where most of our students attend. The head tutor there is Hannah Kang.
Recently, to reach out to the other side of Lubbock, we expanded to TJ Patterson Library. Our head tutor at TJ is Jeffrey Zhou.
There are many locations we eventually plan on expanding into. With enough interest, we hope to one day be found in every public library in Lubbock. We also are working on expanding to schools—Wester Elementary School and Mackenzie Middle School are our top choices right now.
If you have any suggestions/requests of where we should head to next, feel free to let us know!
How to join
You don't have to do anything—just show up!
However, we would prefer if you sign up beforehand so that we can ensure a tutor for everyone. It also lets us know what additional resources you/your child may require, which we will try our best to meet.
How to help
If you are interested in being a tutor yourself, you can send us an email here. Please tell us your age, contact information, what you can tutor, and where you would like to tutor.
If you are looking for other ways to help, you can donate here. All monetary donations go towards educational resources for our students and website and marketing funding.
